MISBAH AHMED
Misbah Ahmed is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer based in Toronto. Her work examines duality, nature, shifting cultural landscapes and the day-to-day human experience. Specifically, exploring narratives within the Pakistani diaspora, and how communities of colour exist in liminal space. In her practice, she primarily works with oil paint and ceramic sculpture, where her creative process and methodologies use a hybrid of modern and traditional techniques. Maintaining and continuing generational practices in her work, and using those practices as a vehicle to reconnect with ancestral landscapes.
In addition to her art practice, Misbah teaches Design Principles and Illustration at OCADU. Her publication work is represented by Old Growth Press, an independent Canadian publisher.
